TEAM
Members and Associates of EEI
EEI is based in the UK and provides services to clients using the
services of the UK based people and Associates that are available to support
specific project requirements.
In each of the main countries of operation EEI is partnered by a local company
or Associates who can provide the essential local input and contacts.
By working with experienced Associates and also with local companies when
necessary, EEI is able to support all stages of the project development life
cycle and can respond rapidly to the changing needs of each client. Through
these relationships and a Europe wide network of contacts we are able to draw
on the correct mix of professional expertise and local knowledge to ensure project
success
Ian Stanley
Ian Stanley is 55, and was the founder of European Energy Investments
Ltd (EEI). In addition to an engineering Diploma, he has an MBA from Henley
Management College, a Diploma in Marketing, and is a member of the Chartered
Management Institute. His career developed from an engineering and project
management background into energy project development, and more recently into
creating and managing European Energy Investments. Ian has over thirty years
international experience in the energy industry, initially as a project manager
and then as a developer.
Ian was with British Gas for 16 years and was part of the management teams that
built the Rough gas storage project in the North Sea and the Morecambe Bay gas
production field in the Irish Sea. He was then a founding member in 1991 of the
power generation services group in British Gas where he first became involved in
projects in central Europe, before moving to Rolls-Royce Power Ventures in 1997.
During five years in RRPV he was responsible for the development and
construction of several power and cogeneration projects, in the UK, Turkey, the
Dominican Republic and notably in Poland and Bulgaria. He left RRPV in March
2002 and set up EEI.
His early work in central and south eastern Europe highlighted the need for
energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in the region, and he has
focused the business of EEI on that region to match that need.
Dr
David Lawrence
David has held senior posts in several UK energy organisations. He was Chairman
of Clinical Waste Incineration Ltd, and Chief Executive of Sheffield Heat & Power,
a large UK cogeneration and district heating company, until March 2000 when he
joined Rolls-Royce Power Ventures in a business development role. He also served
as International President of Euroheat & Power (unichal) from 1997 to 2002 and as
a member of the UK Combined Heat & Power Association Council.
David is a very experienced general manager and energy expert with a depth of
commercial experience including negotiating financing agreements, power purchase
agreements, fuel procurement, and waste disposal contracts, heat supply agreements,
carbon credits and other key project documents fundamental to raising limited
recourse finance.
David has a Doctorate and an MBA from the University of Sheffield
and is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.
Stephen David
Stephen gained his Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University
of Technology, and worked initially as an applications engineer. He joined
McLellan & Partners in 1992 where he worked as a Senior Engineer responsible
for feasibility studies, energy audits, specification preparation and project
management for power projects using steam systems, gas turbines, diesel and
gas engines. He moved to Mott MacDonald in 1995, and then to Rolls-Royce
Power Ventures in 2000, and his duties as a Principal Engineer included project
feasibility studies, conceptual design, plant selection, performance estimation,
capital and operating cost estimation and project management tasks.
Stephen has a broad capability in many types of engineering related to power
generation and energy efficiency. This knowledge was expanded through his work
for a wide selection of clients whilst working with two of the leading engineering
consultancy companies in the UK. Such clients include energy managers and users
and so Stephen has a broad appreciation of energy efficiency matters. He is also
experienced in cost estimation related to energy projects. He left RRPV in June
2003 and is now working as an energy consultant and an Associate of
EEI.
